Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa

He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), and subsequently obtained a Master of Science (MSc) and a Doctoral degree in Economics from Purdue University, Indiana, United States. He was appointed as Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) pursuant to Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia No. 58/M of 2020, dated September 3, 2020.

Prior to his appointment as Chairman of the LPS Board of Commissioners, he held several strategic positions in the Indonesian government. These include Deputy for Coordinating Maritime Sovereignty and Energy at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment Affairs (May 2018 – September 2020); Special Advisor for Economic Affairs to the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs (July 2016 – May 2018); Special Advisor for Economic Affairs to the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (November 2015 – July 2016); and Deputy III for Strategic Issues Management at the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Indonesia (April 2015 – September 2015). He also served as Special Advisor for Economic Affairs to the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs (2010 – 2014), and was a member of the National Economic Committee during the same period. In addition, he has served as Deputy Chairperson of the Debottlenecking Task Force, also known as “Working Group IV”, under the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs since June 2016, as well as a member of the Advisory Council of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 2016, and a member of the Indonesia Economic Forum since 2015.

Before entering public service, he began his professional career as a Field Engineer at Schlumberger Overseas SA (1989 – 1994). He then moved into the financial and research sector, serving as Senior Economist at Danareksa Research Institute (October 2000 – July 2005), Chief Economist at the same institution (July 2005 – March 2013), and President Director of PT Danareksa Securities (April 2006 – October 2008). He later served as a Member of the Board of Directors of PT Danareksa (Persero) from March 2013 to April 2015.

On September 8, 2025, he was officially inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto as Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia under the Merah Putih Cabinet in the Prabowo Subianto Presidential.
